Boyd Specialty Sleep Offers Upgraded Lines at Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Making another big product introduction push here, Boyd Specialty Sleep is showing a number of new and upgraded specialty mattress collections plus an array of new sleep accessory products, including one of the industry’s first UPS-able power adjustable beds.
The St. Louis-based company shows in World Market Center B-901.
“We look at every market as our opportunity to not only introduce new and inventive ideas into the realm of sleep products, but also to present thoughtful improvements in our existing designs that retailers will recognize as more effective, efficient, saleable or value-conscious,” said President Denny Boyd.
In its Natural Flex latex line, Boyd is presenting four new models from $499 to $1,399 in queen, designed to put the sleeper in closer contact with the beds’ multiple latex layers. Ranging in height from 12 to 15 inches, the new beds now sport non-quilted looks that are sleeker and more sophisticated, according to Boyd.
The new eight-model Night Air line, expected to retail from $599 to $2,999, features upgraded fabrics and quilt patterns, new channel-vented layers in the upper-end models, and a re-engineered air pump system that’s quieter and more adaptable in any country. “The air pump has been converted from AC to DC power so that the system works universally,” Boyd said. “It also uses lower voltage, which makes adjusting the bed’s comfort and support levels a virtually inaudible process.”
Featuring rubber air cores laminated with antimicrobial nylon, Night Air beds use layered combinations of poly foam, memory foam and latex. The new models are dressed in contemporary stretch knits and jacquards and are quilted in single-needle stitch patterns that enhance their updated appearance, the company said.
Boyd’s adjustable bed base introductions include a new Flex Base 2000 power model that’s UPS-able, plus a new manually adjustable hybrid design called Easy Flex. Featuring a steel frame and arched birch ply slats for bounce and resilience, the Flex Base 2000 power bed has head and foot mobility. The slats also articulate independently about 30 degrees in either direction, increasing the contouring feel of the bed. Retails start at $599. The company describes its new Easy Flex manual base as “hybrid technology combining the benefits of our Easy Adjust base” with the new Flex Base 2000 model. The Easy Flex base is expected to start at $279 in twin extra long.
In addition, the company is presenting new fabrics and looks in its Responda-Flex memory foam collection to more sharply differentiate its products from competing memory foam lines. Responda-Flex pillowtop models from $399 to $699 in queen will now show quilted, three-layer stretch knits in a steel blue with side panel designs.
Boyd is also introducing two ultra-modern platform bed frames. At $399 each in queen, both decorative frames feature steel tubing in a black matte powder-coat finish, set off with copper-finish accents. “The overall design is meant to be sleek, sophisticated and very contemporary,” Boyd said.
