ST. LOUIS – Boyd Specialty Sleep, one of the industry’s oldest producers of specialty sleep sets, has expanded its product line into more traditional offerings and has now changed its name to reflect is broader offerings. Boyd Sleep is the company’s new name.
The company said it changed its name and logo not only to reflect a more modern, sophisticated bedding company, but also to suggest that the producer’s product assortment has evolved beyond what the industry once thought of as specialty beds to include hybrids and innerspring models.
Launched in 1977 as a waterbed producer, Boyd Sleep has added a number of new mattress designs and sleep-related products over the years including air bed collections, foam- and gel-based lines, hybrids like the izone series which combines air, water and memory foam, and innerspring designs.
“The incremental changes we’ve made over the decades, cumulatively, now represent a significant portion of our business,” Boyd said.
The name Boyd Sleep is also intended to provide a better umbrella for the many other sleep products the manufacturer offers like metal and upholstered platform beds, occasional-use beds, manual and power adjustable bases, and pillows and toppers, the company said.
Boyd said the mission of his company — “Quality Sleep for a Better Life” — has not changed, noting that promise will continue to be honored in every product endeavor the producer undertakes.
