Boyd Introduces New Innovations At Las Vegas Market

Sleep Retailer – 07/26/17

Boyd Sleep is coming to the summer Las Vegas Market armed with a variety of new bedding products that meet a wide range of sleep needs and preferences. The company will show two air collections, including one under the Thomasville Synchrony brand and the other under Boyd’s own SensAire line.

The four Synchrony models and six SensAire beds now have higher profiles which include new Gellux gel-infused foam layers. They also feature new temperature-regulating covers like Ice Fiber and fabrics with Intellitemp technology, which adapts to a sleeper’s body temperature to provide warmth in winter and coolness in summer. Both lines offer independent adjustability on each side of the bed. Retail prices for the Thomasville Synchrony beds range from $1,999 to $3,999 and from $1,499 to $2,999 for the Boyd SensAire models.

Also on the market agenda is the introduction of six new Boyd-branded soft-side waterbeds, which president Denny Boyd describes as “an upgrade in the fashion of flotation.” Available in shallow-, mid- and deep-fill versions, the new waterbeds are expected to range from $1,199 to $2,499 in retail price. The flotation models sport contemporary fabrics with waterfall constructions and are available in heated and non-heated versions. Select models feature Intellitemp phase-change material or Ice Fiber fabric.

Under its Responda-Flex memory foam line, Boyd is presenting several new 12-inch mattresses with layers of gel memory foam, highly resilient latex, support foams and the company’s patented edge support around the perimeter. The new UPS-able mattresses are set to retail at $999. Also priced at $999 is the ninth model added to Boyd’s InnerFlex hybrid line. Designed with a more traditional quilted look, the bed features black tape edging at top and bottom with Ice Fiber fabric, as well as black accents around the perimeter. Beneath the Ice Fiber lies gel memory foam, comfort fiber and an encased-coil unit.

Boyd’s market portfolio also includes two new adjustable, shippable bed bases. The $299 model is an all-metal power version with a wired hand control that offers head and foot settings. The $699 power base can be put on a platform bed with a deck on it.“This specially engineered second model is our first entry into a zero clearance version,” Boyd added.

The company will also introduce six to eight new platform beds in Las Vegas, including metal and upholstery options and mostly contemporary styling. The metal designs—some with unique hand finishes—are priced from $199 to $499 while the black, white and gray upholstery versions are similarly priced and feature new combinations of linen and faux leather. “All of our platform beds now ship in a single box,” Boyd pointed out.

Also on tap for market is a new, wheeled rollaway guest bed. The bed has a four-inch, gel-infused foam layer with a canvas panel on top. Like a trampoline, the canvas is attached to springs around the perimeter of the bed which allows for extra comfort and contouring. At $139, the shippable twin bed features a locking mechanism for the wheels and requires no assembly tools.

Boyd’s final Las Vegas introduction is TopAire, a new air-inflated topper that “turns any queen or king bed into an air bed,” Boyd explained. “Placed beneath the fitted sheet, the topper has dual sides for independent firmness adjustment and a single electric pump that can be used to inflate or deflate on either side of the bed.” TopAire inflates in less than 30 seconds and is set to retail at $299 in queen and $399 in king.
